The metal wick base has been glued into the centre of the jar. This is to prevent the wick from moving too close to the edge of the glass itself. You can remove it though, first, be sure the jar is completely free from wax. A tip to get the last of the wax out is to place it in the freezer, when the wax is solid it should pop out. Then all you have to do, once the jar is clean, is pour rubbing alcohol into the jar, enough to cover the metal base. You will need to let this sit for a couple of days at least to allow the rubbing alcohol to soften the glue. It is important you let the rubbing alcohol have its needed time to work, you don't want to have to pry at the base with any object, including your hand. It is not recommended you place a new wax candle in the glass jar. See our full Yankee Scented Housewarmer Jar Range.
